U 1 r .- ,, .1 u 1 ugggy .5 . ,lv . , .ar ' . ,pgzflfp f ,,.. 47-,TQF 4 Bachelors of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987. Following graduation, he attended naval nuclear propulsion training in Orlando, FL and Ballston Spa, NY. In 1989, CDR Dalton reported to USS LONG BEACH QCGN 91 in San Diego, serving as Main Propulsion Division Officer and as Chemical and Radiological Controls Assistant. During his tour, LONG BEACH deployed to the Southern Pacific, the Indian Ocean, and completed an 'Around the Worldn cruise. Following a tour as the Flag Lieutenant for Commander, Destroyer Group ONE, CDR Dalton served as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer on USS COWPENS QCG 633, which deployed from San Diego to the Western Pacific and received the Spokane Trophy for Combat Systems Excellence. He then went to USS ENTERPRISE QCVN 651 homeported in Norfolk, VA, as Reactor Department Forward Station Officer, responsible for the ship's forward four reactor plants. ENTERPRISE deployed to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf during his tour. Following ENTERPRISE, CDR Dalton served as inspector and Executive Officer of the Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board and attended Harvard's JFK School of Government, receiving a Masters of Public Administration degree. Returning to sea as Executive Officer of USS ANTIETAM CCG 542, he deployed from San Diego to the Arabian Gulf and North Arabian Sea during Operation Enduring Freedom. During his previous tour at the Pentagon, CDR Dalton completed assignments in the Strategy and Concepts Branch under the Deputy CNO for Plans, Policy, and Operations 1N3lN5l I in the Policy Division of the Joint Staff Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate CJ-517 and as the Deputy Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. CDR Dalton's decorations include the Defense S'-1Perior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal NWO awards! , Navy Commendation Medal cfour awardslf the Navy Achievement Medal ftwo awards? and various campaign and service awards.
