Command Master Chief Sis 11. 1,1 Command Master Chief Wittney A. Rose entered active duty service in April 1984. After completing recruit training, he graduated from Seaman Apprentice Training in San Diego, California. Master Chief Rose's first assignment was aboard USS PUGET SOUND QAD 387 Sixth Fleet flagship homeported in Gaeta, Italy. He transferred to USS AFFRAY cMso 5111 homeported in Newport R.I. and attended Mine Sweeping training in Charleston SC. Master Chief's only shore duty assignment was in 1989, at Naval Station New York, Port Operations,where he served as the Captain's Gig Coxswain. He was transferred in 1992, to USS GUNSTON HALL QLDS 435 in Little Creek VA. During this tour he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. After being advanced to Chief Petty Officer in 1993, Master Chief was reassigned 1994 to USS SHENANDOAH CAD 44! where he served as the Second Division Leading Chief. Completing a two year tour, he transferred to Afloat Training Group in Mayport, Florida in 1996, where he served as a Deck Seamanship instructor and qualified as an Afloat Training Specialist. In 1999, he reported aboard USS DOYLE QFFG 395 in Mayport where he served as the First Division Leading Chief and advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. In 2002, he was transferred to USS FORT MCHENRY CLSD 433 in Sasebo, Japan. During this tour he graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy V105 Greenp. In 2004, he advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer and was selected for the Command Master 05. He assumed duties as the Command Master Chief aboard USS BOONE CFFG 281. Chief Program in 20 6
