To the halls of Boone County High School, every student who has ever passed through has been important. Since 1953 when Boone County first opened its doors it has been a place of enjoyment and learning for many. The reconstruction of those halls has made a tremendous impact on the entire school. Along with the students and an excellent teaching staff, it has helped Boone to become stronger and better than ever. The renovation began with a much-needed facelift to the front of the building. Its looks were greatly improved with the addition of all new windows. This was a very big change over the previous assortment of blue and green windows that were across the front of the building. A new gym and athletic facility were added and the old gym was also renovated. The newly constructed section of classrooms accomodated a wide range of desperately needed classroom space. New math rooms and a new computer room were added. This expansion gave us the capacity for a bigger and better computer class. The computer classroom was furnished with about thirty Tandy 1000 computers and was one of the few rooms lucky enough to have air-conditioning. The computer room was also furnished with no- chalk chalkboards.
