BONNERS FERRY HIGH Scnoor. Senior Class Proplzeay Oooh, what a night! 1 shouldn't have had that midnight snack before retiring I guess. Do outlandish dreams come true very often? I'll tell you this one and you can draw your own conclusions. l dreamed that my old classmate, jim Ald- rich, had finally become aware of his dramatic ability and had gone on the radio as the suc- cessor of Henry Aldrich. lfVorking at the same station was Evelyn Anschutz, who had taken over Betty Crocker's work. Wayne Tenney completed the trio of my old buddies who worked at station NUTS. He gives out with your favorite singing commercials. Through some odd coincidence I found my- self in a very drab and mysterious parlor be- longing to Madame VVate Ansee, the esteemed astrologer. VV hen the receptionist drew back the curtain I saw that the old gal was none other than Kathleen Bates. In her interview with me, she said that I would meet the trapeze artist, Bette La Carlson, that very day. flm- agine me, swinging on a trapeze lj i After she told me that inspiring fact I left her establishment and walked up to Ronald Wells, the jackson Street paper boy, and pur- chased a paper, and while reading it I decided to have my shoes glamorized by the nearby cut-rate shoe shine boy, whose beaming face I soon realized belonged to jim Wommack. These headlines were splashed over the front page: GENE CARLSON RECEIVES COM- MISSION AS XVATERBOY AT U. of I. An article written by Corky Lane, the Jane Arden of the Bonners Ferry Herald, told of his oustanding success. Naturally when I saw that, I wanted to send him my heartiest con- gratulations, so I immediately contacted the Cycle Express, which is a revision of the Pony Express. I gave my message to Gwen Cawthon, the operator, and she pedaled off to deliver it. Having got that off my mind I continued down the street. In front of the bakery was a young man greedily eyeing the pastries in the window. When he turned around I recognized the cream puff, Dick Chervenell! When he noticed me, he invited me into Grandma's Grimy Grill to have lunch. In the course of the meal he told me that he was the grease monkey foreman at General Motors. I was very inter- ested in his conversation, but I kept staring at the bouncer. He said, You remember judee Coble, don't you? She has held that position for years. NVe called her over to our table. She told us how well Helen Conedis had done for herself. Yes sir, the first lady of America's hobo camps. Judee also told us about Gloria DeBoer's being the best mountain climber this side of the Kootenai River and also about Ann Dicki- son's good fortune in the logging business. When I asked her about some of the old boxing squad, she-told me that Irving Dinning was the manager of the girls' boxing team in B. F. Having cleaned the plate of the last morsel of food, I sat there picking my teeth. Then I thought of the person who made it possible. Gene Neumayer, owner of the Twofoot Tooth- pick Company. All of a sudden, fbetween snoresj, I found myself in a huge tent. And in the three rings were Kunning Kenney Mendenhall, the lion tamer 3 Mary Hankins, the rapid rope skipper, and an exhibition of Henry Lethrud as Mr. America of 1958. Announcing them with a great husky voice was Alice Schultz, a circus barker. At the other end of the tent was a scrupulous person guessing weights for money. Me thinks only one person could do that! And as I had anticipated, it was Bob Purinton. Evidently I had obtained a toothache from eating candy while watching these top Hight performers so I decided to have my teeth looked at by my dentist, Dr. Beulah McCal- mant. I hailed one of Lucille Rush's Att-Your- Own Risque taxi cabs and set forth on my journey. While riding to her office I tuned in on the Richfield Reporter, DeLoy Johnson. He told news of celebrities which proved particularly fContinued on Page 59j
