She treated him and the two Meredith-Movie-Queens to her own favorite dish of ice- cream topped by luscious strawberries. Moral cried Collins, as the eminent chef, Binks McLean, came speeding out of ahah kigchen in his brand-new racer Uppan Attem, with Tarzan Torrey hanging on e in . The food was disappearing fast, when from outside came a mighty shout of Hi ya. Jellybeanl The Baker-of-Doughnuts turned in embarrassment, to be greeted by a stop signl But no, it wasn't a stop sign. lt was Leslie Roland, who was blushing violently. Where does the smell of fish come from? asked Renfro, who was on one of his nightly sleepwalking iaunts. Oh, everyone chorused, That's just Johnnie Lingenfelder and his pal Don Juan Warren, who have been on a fishing trip. Oh yes. answered Dude, lt's a good thing that one of us remembered in time, see, l'm going to take a bath next Christmas. By the way. he continued as Miss Bixby's partner, Hazel ltvtiss America '35 and '36l Holbrook brought him a huge dish of ice-cream, when l went to Paris the last time for my brother Joe's El Cabbage Tobacco Company, I visited the Folies Bergere. Say. l sure saw a lot of kids that used to go to Bonita. Let's see . . . Mr. and Mrs. Belknap lyou know, she used to be Pauline Helferl and the big cattleman, Bollinq. Why. we used to know each other right well. I called him Swede and he used to call me Dude .... Ahem .... Those were tho good old days. Oh yes, as I was saying . . . . Oh well. here's the program. Bonita Bearcat Gossip olumn September 15. 1960 U We'd like to call your attention to what a few ot Bonita's l935 graduates are doing: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Belknap have moved to Los Angeles where he will establish a new company to replace his building which burned down in San Difnas last week. Mr. Belknap has become quite tamous in the peanut business. Mrs. Belknap will be remem- bered as Pauline Helter. Mr. Walter Pop Baranger has iust returned from a six months' tour through the middle west. His purpose was to lecture on The Advantages of Being a Bachelor. He got his practice while talking to friends at Bonita during his Ser-ior Year. You will be astonished to learn that the most feared man in the United States since John Dillinger was Public Enemy Number I lin l934l. Red Raymond Morgan, is really our own Raymond Crow under an alias. Lawrence Nevada Bolling has become nationally famous for his astounding performance in The World's Rodeo Contest. You will remember his passion tor horses while he was a High School student. Leonard Crow, tamous physician and surgeon, has retired from his practice as a result ot the nervous breakdown he had last week. Miss Patricia Josephine Chapman, noted writer of bedtime stories tor children, has recently published a new book. Kittens in the Bathtub. ' Mr. Bert Torrey, the most famous aviator of the United States, is planning to start a contest in which will result, he hopes, a new world's record tor staying in the air. We find that Mrs. Van de lncloras, well-known in San Francisco as the rr-ost suc- cessful society dowager living. but better known by her stage name Madame Astrin- gent. is none other than Sue Carruthers. who graduated from Bonita in '35. Since the recent death of his third wife, Mr. Lee Settles life ambition has at last been realized. He has established a home for orphans, after having inherited a million dollars from a wealthy aunt. Mr. Earl Taylor established another of his notorious night clubs in Los Angeles recently. Margaret Morris, who has been Bonita's gym 'eacher for a number of years, has resigned her position. Miss Florence Bobbie Dale will fill her vacancy. Mr. Hugo Pettis, well-known tight-rope walker, fell from a tensstory building Wednesday. and remained uniniured. Donald DeSchaine, most famous screen lover since Clark Gables time. is making a new picture entitled She Got Her Man, with Patsy Tillman, Hollywood screen siren. Mr. William Kern, Sr., famous football coach, was seen with his son, William Kern, Jr., at the Hollywood Bowl last Saturday evening. Jack Warren, student body president of the class uf '35, has found two new mem- bers for his radio club, The Woman Scornersf' which has caused more discussion than the Sinclair-Merriam election in '34, On the other hand. Sara Marshalls radio club. The Man Shunnersf' is running strong competition. Ruby DeShazer has been elected secretary of this club. Lucy. Consuelo, and Candida Navarrette, and Isabelle Sanchez, tour famous fan dancers, have iust returned from a iourney to France. Donald Wheeler and Edwin Basinger, two inventors, have perfected a special oil! to aid quiet people in talking. The Meredith twins, Metropolitan Opera duo, have retired after twenty years oi strong publicity. Margaret Dare, famous toe dancer, has recently sued her insurance COmD5ny for Sl00.000 for her toe. which she sprained while dancing for the Prime Minister of France.
