FRESHMEN CLASS HISTORY ,az . -1 sax JJ K, X On August 30, 1954, thirty freshmen en- , ' A rolled in B, H. S. Twenty came from Bone steel, 5'-R six from St. Charles, one from Pense District 10, and one from Mission, one from Rapid City, and one from Herrick, for a total of seventeen girls and thirteen boys. ' On September 12, 1954, the freshmen were ' initiated by the seniors. A party was given that same night by the seniors with freshmen as guests of honor. Three freshmen girls, were chosen B team cheerleaders--Andrea Qualm, Kathryn Jons, and Sharon Meader. The freshmen' sold pepcorn the last of October to raise some money for the carnival. Our king and queen candidates were Gary Whidden ',,g, 1 , and Phillis Schmitz. ' - N tb For athletics, in charge of Mr. Monfore, z, P. . 1 I Jerald Applebee and Eben Bailey lettered in ' Af gg ' football, and Jerald was chosen to be one of I - nm, the first 5 in basketball. ,' - - I Kathryn Jons and Klaus Schoenhoff re- ' V ceived first in their respective divisions in the local music contest, and thirds at the con- i test in Kimball. ' Gary Whidden and Lorrayne Klundt are on the Annual Staff. Andrea Qualm received a rating of excellent in the District Declamation Contest at Colome.
