SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1951, the seniors initiated into BHS seventeen green freshmen, namely, Nola Bailey, Frank Baker, Darlene Cahoy, Bob Cahoy, Duane Camin, Alyce Dummer, Leona Dummer, Jeanette Haase, Norma Helmberger, Lavonne Klien, Lionel Neilan, Donald Noel, Kenneth Sangster, Delores Schmitz, Merlin Smith, Janet Stroh, and Deanna Woerpel. The first important event of the year was initiation, and it seems everyone had a good time, even the freshmen. During the sec- ond semester Frank Baker moved to Oregon. As banquet time rolled around six of our classmates were chosen waiters and waitresses and were dressed in Oriental Costumes. In our sophomore year we saw we had gained a few more members, namely, Frank Baker, who had returned from Oregon, Jerry Carsten, and Bob Gray. At the outset of our year we had the same classmates plus Carol Tilbury who stayed only a few weeks, and Jeanette Haase who left us at the end of the first semester. Selling magazines and refreshments at the football and basketball games were two ways we used in making money for the coming junior-senior banquet. We also ordered our class rings. We presented our play H320 College Avenue , April 1, and on May 4 we held our junior-senior banquet with the theme, Mardi Gras . Two students from the class, Deanna Woerpel and Duane Camin, were chosen to represent us at Girl's and Boy's State. Then came our senior year. We found we had gained one more classmate, Bill Schmitz. This made a total of l0 boys and 9 girls in our class. Initiating the freshmen reminded us of our first year so we treated them kindly. We had our play, Tattletale on November Z3. Deanna Woerpel was chosen as D, A,R, representative. The juniors honored us with a banquet in May, for which we all duly appreciative. Our class statistics: Motto: I Ought To: Therefore I will. Flower: Carnation Colors: Purple and Silver With the passing of Baccalaureate and Commencement we realize that our days in BHS are at a close.
