We, the students of Bonesteel High School, dedicate this
annual to J, R, Cash, former judge of the Eleventh Judicial Cir-
cuit, who is always interested in the activities of young people.
He has been a familiar spectator at school activities
throughout the years.
He moved to South Dakota in September, 1904, and was
superintendent of Bonesteel High School for three years. While
teaching here he wrote and put intoeffect the first course of study
for South Dakota. During these years he had also been studying
law and was admitted to the bar upon examination by the South
Dakota Supreme Court. He practiced law here from 1907 to
1926 when he was appointed as Judge of the Eleventh Judicial Cir-
cuit. This circuit, consisting of nine counties, is the largest,
territorially, in South Dakota.
He has always been interested in the welfare of the com-
munity and especially in that of young people.
We are proud to dedicate this annual to him for his many
years of faithful service to the people of his community and state.
