.Ill ISR SlASS IIHISHIS lZlASS IIISIIIIIY After meeting the same friends the Juniors of '54 finally endeavored for class organization with members and two spon- sors, Miss Gladys Sutton and Mrs. DeLilah Foster. Carol Til- bury and Jeanette Haase left school at the end of the semester. At our first meeting the following officers were elected: President, Frank Bakerg Vice President, Merlin Smith: Sec- retary, Nola Bailey: and Treasurer, Alyce Dummer. Student Council Representitives were Janet Stroh and Duane Camin. King and Queen candidates for the annual school carnival were Delores Schmitz and Duane Camin. Selling refreshments at football and basketball games and conducting a magazine campaign were our money making projects during the year. On April 1, we presented our play 320 COLLEGE AVENUE . May 4, was the date scheduled for the banquet. Members of our class have participated in football, basket- ball, track, declamation, music, pep club, and girls' physical ed- ucation. Among those who gained recognition in extra curricular act- ivities during the year were: Darlene Cahoy and Deanna Woerpel in declam. Deanna Woerpel received superior at the local contest and excellent at the district contest at Burke. Darlene Cahoy received an excellent at the local and also excellent at the Hickory Stick at Gregory. Alyce Dummer was the only music soloist from our class. Leona Dummer and Deanna Woerpel were members of the sextette. Basketball lettermen were: Kenny Sangster, Duane Camin, Merlin Smith, and Robert Gray. Lionel Neilan was the student manager. Football lettermen were: Duane Camin, Kenny Sangst er, Jerry Carsten, Robert Gray Merlin Smith, and Lionel Neilan. Deanna Woerpel and Duane Carnin were chosen boy and girl staters for 1954.

SIIPHIIMIIIII lZlASS UHICIRS We sophomores started this school year, 1953-54, with 18 members. Three of these, Audrey and Arthur Kahler and Roger Stroh, came from Burke. Janice I-Iaase dropped out of school after the first semester, leaving 17 members. Our sponsor was Mr. John Rathbun. We had our first class meeting a few weeks after school started. The following were elected: Carol Peppel - President, Jim Bailey - Vice President, and Reta Stroh - Secretary and Treasurer. Our Student Council representatives were Audrey Kahler and Bob Carsten. John Smith, Roger Stroh, and Arthur Kahler lettered in basketbgll. Arthur Kahler and Jim Bailey lettered in foot- ball. Larry Spitzenberger, base soloist, received an excell- ent rating at the Kimball contest. Eight of the nine girls sang in the glee club. Kathleen Spitzenberger won the oratorical contest in declam for the second year. She received an excellent rating at the district contest. Carol Peppel and Reta Stroh were chosen as B team cheerleaders. - Audrey Kahler and Lenard Zeisler were king and queen candidates.
