i'tiif.ii..icl A. Young son of Mr. and Mrs. Young '..1-N ,as born, in Denver Colorado I4' September 1972 and graduated Northglenn High School in I99l. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in lune of that same year. He graduated boot camp in September and was assigned as the Embarkg- tion X Logistics clerk lst Supply Battalion, While assigned to lst Supphf Bn he participated in Alert Contingency MAQTI: operations during the IA Riot, that resulted after the Rodney King Decision. ln addition he participated in Operation Native Fury Kuwait and Operation Restore Hope, in Somalia. After his tour he was transferred to 3rd Battalion Sth Marines, in December of I994. He served there until May of 1997, deploying twice with 3lst MEU, Okinawa s Division Staff and served as the Embarkation Chief until I998 when he received orders to the Ilth MEU Command Element and senfed as Embarkation Chief. There he participated in two WESTPAC floats and supported CWOZ Michael Young Combat Cargo Officer operations off the coast of East Timor. He then reported to I-MEF to be the Strategic Mobilihf Chief in charge of Air and Surface Embarkation. During his tour there he was selected to Warrant Officer and transferred to Ist FSSG upon graduation from TBS. While at lst FSSG he was responsible for all Air and Sea Embarkation in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He reported to USS BONHOMME RICHARD lLHD 65 ZS lune 2004 as the Combat Cargo Officer CWO Youngs personal decorations include: Navy Commendation Medal Navy Achievement Medal twith five gold starsl the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal lwith bronze starl the National Defense Medal lwith bronze starl and the Marine Corps Rifle Sharpshooter and Pistol Expert badges. 141-f . ef Iapan.
