',,,,ifm,--15 1wL,j'7-x114f1,.1, :f .u i ' f , 1 ' ' T. 4 it 1 T- T A The primary mission' of VTC is to a establish fully manned Tactical Air Control Centers as directed and carry-out the Required Operational Capalmities fROCjfwith an emphasis AmPhibi- ous Warfare CMOBQ, Command Control Communica- tions CCCCQ and Air Defense Squadron detachments deploy throughout the Pacific Fleet providing centralized planning, control and integration of all air operations in support of amphibious operations and training. The squadron is capable of operations with or as the Joint Force Air Component Commander UFACCQ providing air control and plan- ning in a unified or allied theateriof operation. Helicopters are employed in the movement of combat troops and supplies from the ship to the assault objective area. Fixed wing aircraft provide Close Air Support fCASSj for friendly troops and ensure air superiority over the amphibi- ous forces.
