E PHOEMX, jg LEFT TO RIGHT: Mrs. Wilkins, Faith Heisler, Mrs. Kohlmann, and Marsha Modershon. 9 WW Qld je on f t6 , , C3 ii L is Exo In this bicentennial year, we look at what we, as a nation, have accomplished and we are proud. It is the spirit of sharing, co- operation, sensitivity, and originality that has made this coun- try the great country it is today. We of Bolingbrook High have extended this spirit to the Phoenix, for without this spirit, the Phoenix would be nonexistent. The Phoenix is not just a mere collection of words, but the feelings, voices, likes, dislikes, fears, joys, loves, and prides that you, the students have shared with us. As the eagle represents to the United States a feeling of great pride, the Phoenix, to us, is a symbol of eternity. For words may become obsolete and disappear, but when a person puts them together into a writing, they live on and on, to return just as the great bird, the Phoenix does to soar. Please join us as the Phoenix returns again to soar yet higher.
