Excellence Is Guideword for Retro Staff Eager to make a contribution to the school, the members of twelve different committees pooled their journalistic talents into the editing of the 1970 Retrospect. Writing copy, taking pictures, and designing layouts were just a few of the tasks the frenzied staff struggled to complete. With the help of co-editors Jan Jackson and Tom Gerber, the staff selected Ethos as the theme for the yearbook. Although the Wednesday-evening meetings often proved to be gab sessions, the staff success¬ fully combined work with play and managed, somewhere terrifyingly near the deadlines, to produce an annual which will rival those of past and future years. ♦» ,♦« This year ' s junior editors are Martha Jean Baumgartner, Dan Ward, Debby Allen, and Jim Almdale. Editors Tom Gerber and Jan Jackson discuss Retro with Mrs. Rose. Becky rushes to finish copy for first page shipment. 60
