Student Council Was Receptive to Student Needs I feel this year's Student Council was beneficial to the students in bring- ing them closer together. I hope next year's Student Council meets the chal- lenge set by the student body and that they can bring unity to them, said '74 STUCO President Steve Austin. The 1973-74 STUCO has profited the student body by acquiring new machines for the lounge area, passin a more lenient dress code, providing music for dances, but most of all working with you, the students and teachers to make your school career as enjoyable as possible. BACK ROW: Kenna King, Cathy Scovell, Diane Heideman, Half Time Performances Centered On Drill Team With high kicks and smiling faces the Bluestem Drill Team captured half-time interest at 1973-74 sporting events. The ten members also per- formed at a Butler County Com- munity Iunior College football game. Co-captains Rhonda Aldrich and Leigh Ann Hodges helped put it together this year selecting music and improvising routines to such pop songs as Light My Fire, Shaft, and 25-6 to 4. In addition, many summertime hours were spent coordinating uniforms and equipment for the entire group. members of drill team attended a summer clinic at Friends Uni- versity , Wichita, to get ideas for routines and equipment and some experiences for frills, drills and finishing touches. Sponsored by Mr. Larry Temp- lin, drill team sparkled through football and basketball seasons in their dazzling royal blue uniforms with white and gold polka dot insets.
