David Kinkead, class president, was Master of Ceremonies and we were en- tertained by Ruth Ann Moody, Sona Burchett, Linda Bishop, and Brenda Greene, who sang songs and played the piano. The Junior play, HEALTHY, WEALTHY, AND DUMB, was an outstanding per- formance given in the High School Auditorium. An- other member of our class, Brenda Greene, was se- lected cheerleader to help cheer on the seven Juniors who played Varsity basketball. Barbara Davis was the l958 Basketball Queen, sponsored by the Cheer- leaders. Eighteen Juniors with a scholastic average 27 qt..

of 90 or above were initiated into the Beta Club. Luke Johnson went to Boy's State at Lebanon and Sue O'Dell attended Girl's State held at Murfreesboro. Dorothy Hughes was editor of the Junior edition of the Tigerette and Charles Weaver was assistant editor. The outstanding personalities of the Junior Class were David Kinkead and Imogene Foster, Mr. and Miss Junior. The Senior Class remained true to tradition and began the year by winning the magazine drive and attending a free movie. Mr. Winegar took the meas- urements for class rings and we received them in October. Nine outstanding Seniors in science attended Science Day at King College in Bristol, and toured the College's Science Department for a day. Other trips for Seniors are visits to East Tennessee State College and the Tennessee Eastman Company. The excitement of graduating from high school began with ordering invitations and the measuring for caps and gowns. This year the school had a new gym in which to hold physical education classes and ball games, the highlight of sports activities at Blountville. As Seniors we appreciate this new facility more than the other classes because we have been looking forward to hav- ing a band and a new gym for several years, 28
