Dr. Derthick, our dare. our friend, our teacher, inspired us with new lest to live and laugh. He helped us, the Seniors, with the most difficult problem facing us, the choice of our vocation. He taught us that every vocation is exalted if performed in the name of Christ. NX'hen the whole student body and fLlClllIy assembled for chapel. we knew a treat was in store for us when we saw a beaming Dr. Der- thick facing us from the stage wav- ing his white handkerchief. W'e learned long ago when we first met him that when he waved a white handkerchief, he was sending his love to us. But he didn't need such an evident sign of his love because we saw it in his gracious manner, his talk, and his warm handshake. The seniors will long remember the time when he closed our class room door and expressed his glad- ness at being alone with us and Christ. Dr. H. -I. Dsrthick believed in us and helped us reach for higher ideals. It is with happy hearts that we dedicate our 1955 Timex to Dr. Derthick eoficafion
