Bloom students are not educated by just attending class, studying and taking tests. They grow by living . . . understanding their peers, experiencing the changing environment and taking part in an active society. Student life is the time when students experience each other — both good and bad — furthering their education. Students go through each day walking the same paths, talking to the same people, doing the same kind of work, expecting continued results. Occasionally surprises occur. And when those timely events hap- pen, students know how to respond. Most students survive the loss of their Communi- ty Activities sticker . . . their roommates crises . . . the unaccessibility of a computer terminal . . . term papers . . . the withdrawa of a course, finding out they barely have enough credits to graduate . . . long lines . . . missing the bus to the Fieldhouse . . . the Commons food . . . paying a $2 fine for not parking in the hospital lot . . . parties . . . and the following morning. On the next few pages the Obiter will try to show where the activity is and how the BSC student takes advantage of the facili ties. Everyone has the opportunity to in- crease their awareness by sharing the col- lege experience. This experience is the key to continued growth. itr ' ' - ' ■PS . - . -

Appropriately located in the center of campus is the Kehr Gnion Building. It is here that everyone — students, professors, and employees — gathers to discuss the latest happenings and arrange future plans. Some of the future events just may include an exam or two, so many students find the Presidents ' Lounge, Coffeehouse, and Snack Bar excellent places to study. Still others go to the Union to get av ay from studying. They seek the refuge of the Games ' Room, TV lounges, or bowling alleys. Some find relaxation just looking at one of the many exhibits found in the Gnion. And still others look in the Union for vital services. The information desk stands ready to serve — ready to give answers, phone numbers, newspapers and maga- 20 zines, playing cards, and racquetball court reservations. If you ' re not ready to serve try going a few more steps to the student health center. What, you say you can ' t af- ford to be sick? Visit the student bank, de spite the long lines it was a welcomed con- venience. But if you prefer to get away from it all try the Ride Board, Kehr Union Travel Agency, Quest, or get lost in the activities of an organization — even if their office doesn ' t happen to be in the Union you can bet their meeting probably will be. It doesn ' t matter when you ' re in the Union, rest assured that you will find an atmo- sphere that fits your needs. The KUB is definitely the activity center for the cam- pus.
