' M mmM ' S 07 c N The earth, that is sufficent, I do not want the constellations any nearer, I know they are very well where they are, I know they suffice for those who belong to them. Walt Whitman 5 - 4 -I 1 f.v ■ ' . Obiter 74 Bloomsburg State College Bloomsburg, Pa. .J - • 10 11 ) 12 13 S JI The source of man ' s unhappiness is his ignorance of Nature. The pertinacity with which he clings to blind opinions imbibed in his infancy, which interweave themselves with his existence, the consequent prejudice that warps his mind, that prevents his expansion, that renders him the slave of fiction, appears to doom him to continual error. It also provides the necessary training tor Reading Specialists and Reading Super- visors. The Clinic is a year-round op- eration. The present clinic population has been drawn from a 9 county area. The BSC Clinic began in 1968 under the direction ot Dr. Margaret Sponsel- ler. The clinic has been growing and can now accommodate approximately 40-50 clinicians. The clinic is the largest in Eastern Pennsylvania. The BSC Clinic is open to all students and adults who need special assistance in improving their reading skills. Adults who are having reading problems often come to the clinic voluntarily or are re- ferred by a friend. Students from the area schools are referred by teachers, parents, etc. Learning disability cases are also referred to the clinic. The clinic also provides during the school year, services to the surrounding school district through the under- graduate clinic. The undergraduate stu- dents provide a one-to-one individual tutorial experience for children who need special help in reading. 78 Dr. Margaret Sponseiler, Director ol Reading Clinii 79 ' ;r ' Organizations Maroon and Gold Bottom Row Carol Goverick Bruce Eckhart Stephen Kirchner Fred Lupien Eleonora Ehrhorn John Kehrel Ernest English Mr. Stephen C.
