CLASS HISTORY
In the autumn of 38 the great doors of Bloomsburg High opened to us a xery
startled young group facing the last four years of school Lasting friends were
made clubs were opened to us and a new systern of teaching appeared Teachers
appeared to be human beings although fears were first held as to their monstrous
assignments The School Borrd presented the grrls with a Home Economics Room
modernly equipped md the boys w ith 1 well equipped shop under the supertrsron
of Miss Shelhrmer rnd Mr Kunlrle respectrxely The brslretball term won first
place rn the Susqueh rnnr Le rguc tor the second consecutrxe ve rr Our great more

September of 1939 reopened the great doors and allowed us the prrxrlege of
selecting our own courses Commercial or Ac rdemrc We were nearly et enly drxrded
but we made one st rnd rn electing our officers President Jicl Adams Vrce Presr
dent Getha Bomboy Secretary Athamantra Comuntzrs Historian Jean Nresley
Mrs Klrne led us rn the successful production of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm
We took part in the Band Concert and the Gym Demonstration Thus our Frist taste
of teamwork enlrxened us and we w arted somewhat doubtful of the future
In the year 1940 the doors of education rgfrrn opened for the student body We
chose rs our class officers Jrck Adams President Gethr Bomboy Vrce President
Donrld Monn Secret rry Jacqueline Sh rfler Hrstorrrn Our class adxrsers were
M1 Wrgncr and Miss Long The N'1t1on rl Defense Program claimed one of our
frculty Mr Kunkle whose positron w as filled by Mr Roddy Mr Kotys was added
as footbrll coach and Miss Ye rger as the girls gym teacher The All School Play
Where Stars Shine prox ed to be a great success A large number of the students
took part rn the Band Concert Commercial Program and the Gym Demonstration
Our brsketball and football teams did well winning the admiration of all As the
Junior Senior Prom Thus our Junior year ended
September of 1941 rllowed us to meet for the last year as the carefree happy
