Praise, and Have a Little Patience . . . . Cross Age Teaching Really Works The program of crossfage teaching has been around in 'the school for many, many years, but, it has only been recently that students at Bloomington have been transport' ed to the local elementary schools as aides. Crossfage is a class instructed by Mrs. Verna Wheaton, but the actual teaching isleft to the students of the class. They work with the youngsters, help the children to read, write, and even play with them if time or need permits. The teaching is relaxed. There isn't any of the pressures existing Where the stu' dent must hurry. It shouldn't have to be that way . . . education should be fun, and the teacher's aides are realizing that immediately. CROSS-COU TRY ..... lt's Not For Everybody Greg Chapman Roberto Garcia Boredom is something we experience in our life. It sneaks upon us in little commonplace ways-in habit and routine. We can only conquer it by doing different things, like a twofmile race out in the open country, seeing the land, smelling the green trees, and feeling the wind rushing past our face. It's the feeling of freedom one gets that makes CrossfCountry what it is. Combine the experienced leadership of Coach Rogers and a group of young runners who are eager to improve themselves, and you'll come up with the 1972 Bloomington CrossfCountry Team. A team that most convincingly proved themselves with many out' standing performances, including their two strongest wins over league opponents, Yucaipa and Cajon High School. Leading the Captain Nelson counts ,em off. Bruin squad impressively was Junior Mark Washbtlrn, Captain of the team for two consecutive years. Coach Rogers was assisted by David Stauffer. With all the improved runners from this year's squad, the team will have many winning seasons in the years to come.
