Bloomington Hlglfs MECHA Club Bloomington High s MECHA is an organization made up of Mr. Velasquez, who has helped students raise funds for scholar- Bloomington s Mexican American students. Cinco de Mayo is ships. In their second year the club 'had many fund raising events their big event of the year This year the club is sponsored by such as the candy cane sale and their Queen contest. Honors Spread Amongst Class of '73 Daughters of American Revolution Every year a Senior girl is select- ed for the Daughters of American Revolution Citizenship Award. Eliz- abeth Cordova was chosen on the basis of outstanding citizenship, scholarship, and her participation in school activities. Liz was honored with a DAR pin and certificate, a-nd she becomes one of many special members of the DAR chapter. Ish.. 1 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Competing amongst many other Senior girls, Debbie Belmudes qual- iiied as Bloomington's district win- ner of the Betty Crocker Home- maker of Tomorrow Award.. She has a chance in the regional divis- ion, and Debbie can win a sizable monetary scholarship. The special testis administered every year by the Homemaking Department for the Betty Crocker Industries. Lions Club District Speech Contest Winner Lois Hunnicutt was named the district winner of the an' nual Lion's Club Speech Contest. She competed against final' ist Jeff Gricler, and Sherry Houseworth.
