Mr. Kistenfeger with some help cuffs Mr. O'Neals' enthusiasm. Last year BHS introduced a new dean, Mr. Kistenfeger. He moved here from Olympia where he taught English for three years and was the assistant football and basketball coach. Then he moved to Tremont where he taught another four years of English and was head football and basketball coach. Then he moved to Bloomington and became the dean of stu- dents at BHS. Mr. Kistenfeger feels the ti- tle dean is not the right word because people fail to look past the title, and do not get to know the person. To succeed in life Mr. Kistenfeger feels that today's high schools should produce well educated stu- dents. Mrs. Brown's secretarial duties are numerous. l9

BGARD DECISIONS TAKE SHAPE Many decisions were made by the Board of Education concerning the policies and development of our school. Part of its job involved managing the District 87 budget, approving educational staff, and adopting the school calendar and making changes in curriculum and program. Since the board members are elected by the public, they must consider the best in- terest ofthe taxpayers, faculty, and stu- dents within the district. This responsibil- ity resulted in the vote to build an addi- tion to the industrial arts division of BHS. The School Board acknowledged the need for an auto garage so students could ob- tain work experience. Soon, thanks to the Board of Education, the auto mechanics classes will receive shop training on the grounds of BHS. The Board of Education members: Front: Mrs. Smith. Mr. Jones, Mr. Bach, Row 2: Mr. lngold. Tvlr. Robertson. Mr. Joslin. Absent: Mrs, Fraker. 5 Mr. lngold leads the Board members in another discussion of importance requiring everyones attention.
