An undefeated Raider football team raced on to the field through a Victory Lane formed by the band. Two hours later, they raced off the field after beating Champaign's Nlaroons, 14-7, extending their winning streak to six games in a row, and providing hundreds of students and alumni with something to yell about, Students, Alums Enioyed Unique Hootenanny Bathed in the yellow moonlight of a make-believe fantasy, Lyn Symons' wand added the final note to the gala home- coming activities. 'tAmber Shadows was highlighted when the petite Thai beauty, Salina Poolthong, was presented with a nosegay of white daisies and named the honorary queen of the 42nd homecoming.

T 'l I ABOVE: Jack Horenberger, director of athletics at lllinois Wesleyan University, delivered the address at the homecoming assembly. The assembly was the first of several events highlighting the celebration. RlGHT: For its annual skit in the homecoming assembly, seniors produced Snow White and the Seven Gridders, a parody of the famous fairy tale. TOP: Pat Hocenic, Denise Buffinton, and Julie Hart, from left, listened to the speech of the wicked queen, Elizabeth Ahlenius. IVllDDLE: The seven gridders, portrayed by David Gaston, Larry Thomas, Jack Keefe, Jim Pierce, Rick Huskis- son, Larry Carson, Bill Rusk, and Mike Meece, from left, belted out the tune Old Nlan Raider. BOTTOM: Searching among the graves for Snow White, Paul Hansen encountered Virginia Spry and Sue Leben behind tombstones. BELOW: During the more serious part of the assembly, Student Council Presi- dent Jeff Knuckles crowned homecoming queen Vicki Daugherty, who reigned over the remainder of the weekend's activities. W-.,, Ili In the style of all hootenannies, students sat informally in the gymnasium, added their voices to those of the Prairie Travelers, and kept rhythm with the clapping of hands.
