CLASS HISTORY secretary and B111 McAul1ffe started the first of a two year term as treasurer Student Counc1l repre sentattves chosen were LOIS Radm Bruce Seger Tom Stenstrom and M1111cent W1lk1ns In October the tumors took advantage of a spec1a1 1un1or pr1v11ege that of rece1v1ng class r1ngs The sh1ny gold r1ngs were very much 1n ev1dence at all trmes and served to rem1nd us Cas 1f we needed 1t'b that we were almost seniors' Sports were 1n the spotl1ght Clllflflg th1s year dur1ng all three seasons Warner Brush became a new mem ber of the soccer team along wtth the regulars R1chard BenMaor Tom Walsh and joe Feder1co and john Gunmng added to the strength of the Var stty basketball team Scholast1c ach1evements on the part of three Junior g1flS were rewarded dur1ng the w1nter L1nda Ber cowetz Lo1s Rad1n and Nancy Schwartz were 1n ducted 1nto the Nat1onal Honor SOCICIY at a formal assembly The junior Prom' For the last two years these words had been s1mp1y somethmg tn the d1stant fu ture but on May 75 they became a rea11ty The dlS t1nct1on of betng the first class ever to hold a prom 1n the new h1gh school went to the class of 58 French IH IES theme the prom was t1t1ed MIHUII Par1s1en and the couples danced around a twenty foot E1ffel Tower to the romanttc mus1c of Lenny DeMa1o and h1s orchestra Lo1s Betters as general cha1rman managed all affa1rs very well The b1g moment of the prom was the crown1ng of the Kmg Queen and court un1or class members were judged on appearance and SCIVICC to the class B111 McAul1ffe was chosen K1ng w1th ayne Atkmson as h1s Queen The court cons1sted of G1nny COII Lo1s Betters LOIS Rad1n and M1ll1cent W1lk1ns The greatest honor that could be bestowed on lun 1or class members that of representation to Nutmeg Boys State and Laurel G1rls State went to LOIS Rad1n ean P1nney B111 McAul1Ffe and Tom Stenstrom W1th the arr1va1 of vacatton we yunlors finally realtzed that our long hoped for amb1t1on had finally come true We were sen1ors' 1957 SENIOR YEAR 1958 In September we came back to school wrth the rea11zat1on that our four years at BH S were qu1ck1y comtng to an end We were determ1ned to make th1s last year our best' To gu1de us through the year suc cessfully we elected our class officers and Student Counc1l representanves Tom Stenstrom was chosen Pres1dent Bruce Seger VICE Pres1dent Jayne Atk1n son Secretary and B111 McAul1fTe Treasurer Through the efforts of our able Student Counc11 rep resentat1ves Pat Merr1tt B111 Moreland Lo1s Rad1n Bob Sm1th and Mlll1C6Ht WllklH5 the Sen1or class made 1tself heard throughout the school We presented the annual sen1or semr formal dance Club Serenade 1n December The h1gh11ght of fhlS Chr1stmassy affa1r was the crown1ng of MISS Sere nade D1anne Grosst rece1ved th1s honor In the field of sports our stars once aga1n shone br1ght1y Tom Walsh was chosen captaln of the soccer team Co captams B111 Moreland and R1ch1e LaBr1e led our successful team all the way to the basketball tournament Cheermg the boys on to v1ctory was the Vars1ty cheer1ng squad w1th Mar1e Lupo as IIS cap ta1n and sen1ors Sue Gardner LOIS Rad1n and G1nny Cort In Aprrl we presented the r1outous comedy T1me Out For Gmger under the able d1rect1on of Mr B111 Cowan Tak1ng part 1n the play were Ginny Cott Ann Goldberg Mary jane Gocher Kathy Fenton Jayne Atk1nson M1ke Lynch John Gunmng Bob Sm1th 11m Leahy and Warner Brush To fin1sh out our memorable year were the won derful events wh1ch are known only to SCHIOIS e outtng banquet Baccalaureate servlce and fmally graduat1on 7 ' .I 1 1 ' - C . - .... . 4 4 , 4 a 1 . . , .
