CLASS HISTORY 1954 FRESHMAN YEAR 1955 Not only d1d Bloomfield Hrgh acqu1re a new pr1n c1pal Mr Warren 1n the fall of 1954 but n1nety s1x eager freshmen who began the1r four year trek through the hallowed halls of BHS The Class of 1958' Our first oflicml step as a class was the elect1on of oflicers joe Cardosa served as pres1dent Bruce Seger started h1s repet1t1ous career as v1ce pres1dent LOIS Rad1n was elected as secretary and the class bank account was guarded by Lots Betters To repre sent the largest class in attendance 1n all school mat ters Barbara Peterson and joe Feder1co were elected to the Student Counc1l Variety IS the sprce of l1fe and the able frosh were well represented 1n the field of sports as well as execu t1ve matters Karl Stenner Conrad Therr1en and R1chard BenMaor earned recogn1t1on on the soccer team whrle B111 Moreland and Larry Cuyler proved the1r sk1l1 on the Vars1ty basketball squad B111 More land was also on the d1amond dur1ng the baseball season Spr1ngt1me found us all madly plann1ng our first class dance Fools Frol1c ean P1nney and oe Koen1gsburg as co cha1rmen Wlfh MISS DeDom1n1c1s and Mr Castle adv1sors were largely respons1ble for the success of the affa1r The g1rls too outd1d themselves in the field of sports Barbara Peterson Mar1e Lupo Penny Ser1g nese LOIS Rad1n and Nancy Mattrl were chosen to lead the cheermg for the yumor varsity basketball team during the1r sophomore year And so closed our freshman year w1th our class garmng a defintte status at Bloomfield H1gh 1955 SOPHOMORE YEAR 1956 S1nce we started our sophomore year in the new high school w1thout trad t1on or legends of former classes we felt we should make a record that would long be remembered As elections were the first 1tem on the agenda the sophomores thought ser1ous1y about a wise cholce of leaders Bruce Seger was promoted to pres1dent Tom Stenstrom served as v1ce pres1dent Gmny Co1t was respons1ble for the records of the class and R1chard LaBr1e was the money man The Student Counc1l ICPICSCDIHIIVCS from the sophomore class were LOIS Rad1n B111 Moreland Newton Heston and ayne Atk1nson Mrs M1ckelson and Mr Castle were ap pomted as permanent class advisors All three mayor sports sported Splflfed sophomores on the1r teams The soccer team had R1chard Ben Maor Tom Walsh Joe Feder1co and Newton Heston as players and B111 Moreland and Larry Cuyler came 1nto thelr own as members of the Vars1ty basketball squad Bruce Seger joe Feder1co Frank Tucc1 and B111 McAul1ffe showed prom1se as baseball players After try outs were held the cheerleading squad boasted Mar1e Lupo and LOIS Rad1n as members of the Varsity squad w1th G1nny COII Nancy Mattrl Barbara Peterson and Penny Ser1gnese as members of next year s J V squad Soc1ally the sophomores worked together under the leadersh1p of Bruce Seger and G1nny COII to make our turn about dance the Patch Dance a good money rnak1ng event W1th one more step closer to be1ng h1gh and mrghty SCHIOIS the sophomores faced the com1ng jumor year w1th a satrsfymg feel1ng of accompl1sh ment 1956 JUNIOR YEAR 1957 Upper classmen at last' As tumors we started the year knowmg that th1s was to be the most rmportant e Electron of class officers was the first newsworthy event as the year started and as usual the juniors chose the best B111 Moreland a natural leader was chosen as pres1dent w1th Matt Hmes ass1st1ng as vtce pres1dent Jayne Atk1nson made a very capable , .1 , 1 ' 1 s ' ' 1 s ' ' a . . . , - ..
