We have chosen Barbara Sue Agee as queen of our F. F. A. chapter. She will be our candidate in the tri-state F. F. A. Queen contest. Barbara Sue is a Sophomore at B.C.H. S. She has been an active 4-H Club member since her early school days, winning several prizes in fat cattle shows and fat hog shows. She is a typical farm girl and helps with the chores before and after school hours. Scholastically, she ranks high in her class, and is an active participant in exua-curricular activities. my

Future Farmers of America Our F.F.A. Chapter is the largest organization in school. It is composed of seventy-five members, the majority of this number being Freshmen. The chapter has been working on a new shop for the school. It is behind the gymnasium and is 120 feet long and 40 feet wide. It is composed of one classroom for the Band, a shop, a classroom for the agriculture class and some small storage rooms for their tools and equipment. The building is made of concrete blocks. Our chapter has begun a pig chain. We have five Hampshire sows and one boar. The sows were given to five boys which in turn will give two sow pigs back to the chapter to be given to more boys. The F.F. A. basketball team has been quite successful this season. They have had five wins and no losses. We have also been quite successful on other projectsg such as winning first place in the Sub-Dis- trict contest of parliamentary procedure. 2,1

QR ri 4-H Club The purpose of 4-H Club work is to teach rural boys and girls the latest and best practices in agri- culture and home economics, including the fine and significant things in rural life. Members find their lives enriched by enduring friendships with other young people. Some of the activities the 4-H Club members participate in are contests, rallys, 4-H Club Camps and 4-H Club Round-Up. Through work in projects, boys and girls learn how to assume responsibilities and find their places in the world of which they are a part.
