1 'Ill I I Lai' gll Glee Club The Bledsoe County High School Glee Club consists of 35 girls from high school and eighth grade. The aims of our glee club are to learn to sing a variety of songs such as classic, semi-classic, and folk. Also we try to learn to sing them in the proper style and inter- pretation. Through singing songs one can become better acquainted with people of other nationalities and countries. The stu- dents also have a feeling of enjoying their work as well as learning. The Glee Club sang, Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, Ciribiribee, and 'La Cucaracha, at the music festival sponsored by the Pikeville Study Club, No- vember 2l, 1953. They learned quite a few Christmas Carols to sing during the holi- days. Mr. Theodore Takaroff, the director, is trying to get some special arranged selec- tions from Gilbert and Sullivan to prepare for our next appearance which will be April 1, 1954. The accompanist for this perform- ance will be Nancy Stephens. The Glee Club is open to anyonein high school or the eighth grade. 'H

Future Farmers of America Our F.F.A. Chapter is the largest organization in school. It is composed of seventy-five members, the majority of this number being Freshmen. The chapter has been working on a new shop for the school. It is behind the gymnasium and is 120 feet long and 40 feet wide. It is composed of one classroom for the Band, a shop, a classroom for the agriculture class and some small storage rooms for their tools and equipment. The building is made of concrete blocks. Our chapter has begun a pig chain. We have five Hampshire sows and one boar. The sows were given to five boys which in turn will give two sow pigs back to the chapter to be given to more boys. The F.F. A. basketball team has been quite successful this season. They have had five wins and no losses. We have also been quite successful on other projectsg such as winning first place in the Sub-Dis- trict contest of parliamentary procedure. 2,1
