GAVETTA GREER SWAFFORD always looked as lf she had Just stepped out of a band box Her shppers never had a stam nor was a han ever out of place Gavetta was full of wrt and could find an answer for every questron She worked rn the lrbrary as assrstant for two years and belonged to the Press Club for one year HERBERT SWAFFORD was one of the smallest boys 1n our class but defmrtely not the quretest He was carefree and always smrlrng You could see h1m w'lth hrs pal Robert Bolton Two of a krnd as one mrght refer to them Hrs early school days were spent at Summer Crty Herbert was a member of the FFA and played rn the class tournament tn 52 53 NANCY SWAFFORD was another quret gul of the Senror Class She could be seen wrth her pals Chrrstrne Edna Rae and Verneal She attended grammar school at Summer Crty She was a member of the FHA rn 54 Her favonte subJect was Amencan Hrstory CAROL JANE THOMPSON was a very beautrful grrl wrth a head full of brarns Always srmling always frrendly always dorng her best to make others happy was what Carol was noted for Carol was chosen for Football Qleen canrdate from our Freshman class She served on the Student Councrl rn 52 was class treasurer rn 54 played 1n the class tournament from 50 54 and worked as offrce assistant rn 53 54 She was a member of the FHA and Press Club rn 52 She very well portrayed the part of Mrtzr Judy s frrend rn the Senror play A Date Wrth Judy She was feature edrtor and a member of the Advemsrng Staff on the Beacon th1s year Carol had a very hrgh scholastrc average for the four years and she t1ed CHRISTEAN TUCKER seemed to devote more trme to Home Economrcs than any other subject She belonged to the FHA 53 54 She clrmaxed this by rece1v1ng the Home Economrcs medal this year She also took part rn other acnvitres She was an offrce assistant typrst on the Echo and Class edrtor of the Beacon Chnstean rs probably mterested 111 Home Economrcs because she IS engaged and plans to be marrred soon after graduatron NAOMI RUTH YEARGAN harled from out New Harmony way She was a grrl who always made frlends well She was full of wrt and humor For two seasons Naomr was on the basketball squad She was typrst for the Echo and thrs Job she fxlled well When Naomr had frnrshed wrth her portron the pa per she was always wrllmg to help anyone who lacked some havmg theu page fin1shed She also was Class Edltor of the yearbook BILLY FRANK WHEELER was another handsome boy rn our class Hrs class mates thought lots of Brlly Frank He was a very rndustrlous worker and was always wrruung some honor He served as Vrce Pres rdent of our class two years and Treasurer of the class one year He was president of the Senior 4 H Club two years Presldent of County wide 4 H four years was a member of poultry Judgmg team delegate to 4 H Round Up and attended State 4 H congress B11ly Frank was rn four plays the Junior class play Semor class play Beta play and Speech club play He was chosen as one of the best actors of the drstnct at Cookeville He was a member of the football squad and played in the class tournament Brlly Frank was presrdent of the Beta Club one year presxdent of Speech Club one year a member of the FFA and 4 H clubs He played rn the band and recerved the Band medal He was Salutatorian of the class received the Math Medal two years and the Scxence Medal PY Shelby Jean Seals with Wendell Selby for English medal with an average of 97.4 for the four years. .
