,QI ROTA 80 After ten long days at sea crossing the Atlantic, Ftota was the first port of our deployment. BLAKELY crew members met with their counterparts on the USS DAVIS DD-937. Due to the concentrated nature of our visit, only base liberty waS granted during the two-day port-of-call. The Navy Exchange offered a large variety of souvenirs for individual collections. Members of the CPO mess enjoyed a wetting down party for our newly initiated Chiefs. On the morning of the 26th, with a slight sense of apprehension, BLAKELY departed Rota and proceeded to the Straits of Gibraltar. After months of training we had arrived.
