Queen King Senior attendants Junior attendants Sophomore attendants Freshman attendants Crissy Kerr Mike Townley Kate Jackson Brooks Rogers Lissa Ritchie David Benson Cathy Ferris Eric Aamoth Rachel Weinberg Phil Otis Homecoming week began with students and faculty alike demonstrating their spirit by dressing up in wild and crazy clothes Tuesday through Friday. The days were for hippies, nerds, school colors, and togas. The Bonfire allowed each class and varsity sports team to entertain almost the entire student body with a variety of skits, ranging from a talkshow hosted by the boy's soccer team, to the sophomore class's song, poking fun at themselves and everyone else. After the announcement of the royalty, the Bonfire closed with the annual beard and hairy leg contest, judged by the queen and king respectively. Bill Cousins scraped by Jamie Kingston to claim the beard title, while Liska Clemence won with the hairiest legs 1 The cheerleaders raise the spirit of the school at an outdoor pep test 2 Chon Crushshon singes his clothing for the sake of a skit at the bonfire. 3 Pep Club members Matt Cohen. Dave Berger son, Brooks Rankin, and cheerleaders Jilt Neronberg, Molly Mcnikheim, Andi Friedberg. Senior-nine survives skepticism Some said it couldn't happen. They thought Senior-nine was expendable, but the seniors and freshmen proved the skeptics wrong again. Seniors were tasteful and well-behaved in their actions and freshmen participated willingly in the festivities. Senior-nine once again succeeded in establishing lasting relationships between its participants, while helping the freshmen to feel more a part of the school. Careful planning by the Senior-nine Committee helped put to rest any fears of hazing and let everyone involved concentrate on having a good time, while continuing Senior-nine as an established tradition at Blake.
