Literatu A box and pie supper was given Halloween, in the auditorium, a splendid prqogram was rendered, after which a large number of boxes and pies were sold, netting 'S72.00. The proceeds were used to continue the work on the auditorium, which had just been opened at that time. The junior class play, "The Kingdom of Heart's Content," was presented November 22, at the Palace Theater. lt came off in splendid style, and every one present declared it a big success. The Sock Social, given November 28, 'was one of the biggest events of thezyear. Un this occasion 2869.00 was collected, which was also used 'tor repairs needed. Sometime latcr in thc year, the Beauty Contest was held, approximately 590.00 was received. This sum was used to pay on the piano, that has been bought this year. Among the noted speakers and entertainers, who have visited our school are, Thomas Iilmore Lucey and Dr. Charles Evans. We are always glad to have such men, because they are doing every thing in their power to build up the schools of America. The cliapels during this year have been instructive as well as interesting. One of the most interesting, was supelvised by Rev. Butcher, the story of joseph being dramatized. The Sophomores' play "Prairie Rose," given at the auditorium April 13, was in every way a success. M-any things have been done about our school this year, among them are, the opening of the auditorium, the building of the stage, the placing of piano in school and the let- ting of grass, 'flowers and shrubs on the grounds.
