Friends
I was approached the other day by a member of the
BRHS yearbook staff and asked, "What is the most
rewarding part of your job?" My answer was, "The
friends I have made among the young and adult people
of Black River Local School District."
I offer this challenge to the young people rep-
resented in this yearbookg Strive to be friends with all
you meet! -
Monetary wealth may be lost or spentg materialistic
goods may be stolen or destroyed, but true friendship
shall endure forever.
As you go through life retain your old friendship
and develop new ones. Remember, to gain a friend
you must be one! A very famous poet once stated his
philosophy of life as "let me live in a house by the side
of the road and be a friend to man."
I can truly say this philosophy prevails among the
young people and adults of Black River District and I
thank you for being my "friends,"

Mr. Smith, Superintendent
What is the most rewarding part of your job? I
J. P. South, Principal
I
The most rewarding part of my job is two-
fold. Working with the dedicated members of the
- faculty whose first concern is the welfare of the
students, is one thing that is rewarding. Working
with the young leaders of our school is the other
part of the job which is rewarding. The young
people, who are the real leaders of our school,
who work diligently, who think of others, who
try to do what is right, who are truly interested
in getting an education, keep alive my faith in the
young people of America in general, and the
young people of the Black River School District
in particular.
