Her "one and only" proves to be Daveg About this subject she'll always ravel Janet Runkle, quiet and shy? This we know is, of course, a lie. What she likes is having fun. She keeps those fellows on the run. Karen Sifread, a girl so sweet, Our class knows she can't be beat. Her greatest wish, to be a beautician. We know she'll succeed, with her ambition. Esther Sines has long, dark hair, To her many friends she's always fair. This girl is quiet and reservedg And all she acquires is deserved. Susan Scheck has her ideals, But some of the time she spins car wheels And added to this another notation, Cosmotology will be her vocation. Teara Smith is nice and quite pert. To her classmates she is never curt. She makes friends with so much ease, She's never, never hard to please. Blonde Lois Sooy with pretty blue eye, Has caused many to envy and many to shy, She's a sense of humor beyond compareg And if there's a party, Loie'll be there. Donald Sprinkle, also known as "Sprink" Seems to get a gal with one quick wink. He studies hard to get ood grades How does he do it? Riggt in he wades. Ralph Steele really likes to fly, We all know he'll reach the sky. In classes he is really great, With all his classmates, he does rate. Jean Stroup is of a witty nature, The kind who's needed in state legislature. In our class she's rated the funniest, With a personality that is the sunniest. Dick Van Meter is always a star, Whatever he tries, it's up to par. ln popularity he's far from last, Because in class he's really a blast. Stephen Wande1's a boy who is quiet and shy? But, even so, he's quite a guy. There's none who dislikes our Steve, And "Little Stevie Wandel" is his pet peeve. Jim Williams has a swell disposition, He hoped to be a successful musician, On his drum he'll diligently try, His ultimate goal---to please Mr. Fry. We all know a guy named Ronnie Woody Who spends his time under a car hood. He never, never, speaks out of turn, For all of his effort is put forth to learn? Thelma Worcester is graceful and tall She says that life is really a ball. As head majorette, just watch her stepg Where the band's concerned, she's really "he P CHRISTMAS AT BLACK RIVER I Taff Memorial 3 ilL 3 W GRAD U RXY? Planning had been going on some sev- eral months before it was decided to estab- lish a section of youngsters in Special Education, Through this planning and pre- liminary investigation it was found that we were a large enough school district and had students enough that would benefit greatly by establishing regular classes in special education. This is a neglected area in many school programs and should be developed as rapidly as possible. Our section of Special Education meets everyday at the Sullivan building. Youngsters from all over our school district are brought into this class each day for special instruc- tion that meets their particular needs. The class size is limited to no more than a four year age span among any of its members and the maximum number for any one class is seventeen. Here youngsters are not classed as specific third or fourth grade students but rather work in subject areas which they need and are capable of making satisfactory progress in. No phase ofachild's education is neglected. At the present time we have students waiting to get into this class. One very important thing, to remember is that this class section is eing financed primarily by state funds from the depart- ment of Special Education. This year our school district has been credited for one complete unit in Special Education. Addi- tional transportation funds are allotted to the school district for the miles traveled by these students to get to their class. The instructor for this class for the first semester of school was Mr. Kenneth Young. The second semester he has been replaced by Mrs. Chavis, who we feel is doing a very commendable job.
