First semester Debi Sipes was Librarian. 2 BO s.,,,v 9 '--J' qs The Choir and Instrumental Ensemble made their first appearance on Found- er's Day. The Instrumental Ensemble and the Madrigal singers presented a program for the Illinois Federation of XVomen's Clubs on October 28. The ensemble also played at Butterworth Center for the retired teachers. Members of the en- semble were in a pep band that played at the basketball games and performed in smaller groups for different occa- sions. The Madrigal singers, a brass ensemble, and the recorder group created the at- mosphere of the l5th Century for the Madrigal Dinner. In January. the lVinter Choral and Instrumental Concert was given. It en- compassed a variety of types and forms of music. On April 13 and 14 the choir and ensemble went on tour to Elgin Com- munity College and Judson College in Elgin. On April 29 and 30 two Music Concerts were given in connection with the Fine Arts Festival. One featured the choir and the other featured the instrumental ensemble. In June the choir and band combined for the Commencement exer- cises. The Music Department also acquired uniforms for the instrumental ensemble this year as Well as needed additional Madrigal costumes.
