The four buildings included in the 10-year planning which is now in progress are: lj the library-classroom-administration building, lower center, 25 fine arts building, lower right, 35 student center and gymnasium, upper center, and 45 science and technology building, just left of the administration building. The three other structures show where buildings could be added when future expansion becomes necessary. North is to the right in this picture. Costs of the new campus are set at ten million dollars and it is anticipated that State and Federal grants will pay for seventy-five percent of this figure. A little less than half of the approximately one-hundred and five acres of land was donated and the balance was pur- chased by the College. Ten acres of parking area will provide space for about twelve- hundred cars. lt is estimated that no two buildings will be more than seven minutes walking distance apart. Footbridges over a small creek across campus will add to the short time of traveling from building to building. . Hopes are that this new campus will be completed by the fall of 1968. Boundary disputes between Moline and East Moline were settled this spring which allowed final decisions on utilities to be made. The Black Hawk Board approved a twenty-year develop- ment plan. The projected enrollment for 1975 is between five thousand and six thousand students with full-time day student population set at three thousand. By 1985 the College expects an' enrollment of seven thousand to nine thousand with five thousand full-time day students. This continual growth has placed Black Hawk among the largest junior colleges in the state. This land located north of John Deere Road in the southeast bluff area of Moline promises to be an important cultural addi- tion to the Bock River Valley.
