Through the middle of the night, with stars shining briqht, At 35 knots We did bound. With our wake a straight line, our squadron behind, They couldn't catch this old greyhound. Then we got our relief, to our great grief, We thought our Work Was over. Though We could steam, we Wasn't too clean, They Wanted us to smell like clover.
