ut ide Acti ities Most students participate in activities outside of O,Dowd. They do volunteer work, are in clubs, play sports, play instruments or belong to musical organizations, or have after- school jobs. Anyone can see O'Dowd students involved in all kinds of activities. These students are involved everywhere and anywhere. Some students volunteer at shelters, as tutors, and other after - school programs. Plenty of O'Dowdians are involved in clubs outside of school like the Oakland Asian Youth Organization COAYOJ or in leadership progams. Many also participate in church youth groups. Many athletes play sports in the off- season to stay in shape. Still others play in church leagues or on other teams for fun instead of competition. Lunchtime Activities Lunchtime is one of the few times during the day when O'Dowd students can take a break from the strenuous daily schedule and relax. ,t Students can enjoy good food from the Cafeteria or bring their own lunch. Many Seniors take advantage of their Senior privildge to eat outside, while underclassmen eat in the Cafeteria or Annex. Throughout the school year, Student Council sponsors various lunchtime activities including the entertaining contests during Spirit Week.
