enior Sahara y Walk Like An Egyptian! The class of '93 once again took first place in the Spirit Week competition. Last year's Iingle Bells theme made way for a victorious Senior Sahara with a hall decorated as a desert with camels and palm trees. Seniors donned African and Middle Eastern wear, the girls dressed as Egyptian goddesses or Afri- can queens and the guys sporting tur- bans and sunglasses, while everyone perfected a walk like an Egyptian gait. This unity proved them to be winners as they came in first in the costume judging. For the Clash X Nerd Day the usually hip seniors Won the com- petition easily wearing lots of polyes- ter and Wild shirts with plastic pocket protectors. After three years of experi ence, Winning the Olympics events was no problem. The united and enthusiastic senior class will surely never forget Spirit Week '92. x Above: With her face painted for that new Spirit Week event, Elena Hunt joins Shannon Ferguson in the gym. allies 81 Assemblie i Getting Together This year, rallies and assemblies were more exciting than ever before. The Sports Rallies entertained us while introducing us to our athletes. At the Spirit Rallies, the air was thick with excitement over the spirited competition between the classes. The Food and Toy Drive Assembly thrilled us with its skit and invited us to be generous towards the less fortunate of our community. Other assemblies celebrated our diversity, like the Black History Month Assembly in February. Although all of the asemblies and rallies we had over the course of the year were special, the one we'll remember most is when guest Michael Pritchard, the nationally known comedian, made us laugh with his comedy routine about peer-pressure and self-esteem. Activity period sports rallies get students fired up for the game. 26 Student Life Above: Students visiting for the day from Iapan get a chance to attend an assembly and be introduced to life in American high schools.
