iris Furnish Enthusiasm The 1972-73 Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad in formation are: FRONT ROW: Pam Growe, Janice Kloster, Maureen O'Connel1. BACK ROW: Lisa Schleper-Captain, Terry Kunz. Junior Varsity Cheerleaders sup- ported all freshmen and J.V. athletic sports this year. Two freshmen were chosen at the beginning of the year to work with the three sophomore cheer- leaders voted on last year. These girls led cheers for the spectators who showed up for the games. Contributing to the spirit were the lettergirls composed of all senior girls. The organization began strong, but fol- lowing suit with school spirit it slowly diminished throughout the basketball season. Conflicts with uniforms, substi- tutes and lack of leadership all explain the loss of enthusiasm. In the times they were together though, they spelled nothing but pride. , The 1972-73 Lettergirls are seniors Debbie Palermo, Lucy Chartrand, Lori Gallagher, Karen Vacek, Kim Dean, Janice McWilliams, Mary D'Agostino, Janice Slatinsky, Kathy Scherer, Kathy Doyle, Julie Wicker. 85
