And what better way for a school to show their spirit than thru assemblies. 12 times last year the students of Luers gathered in the gym for an assembly. There was a variety of assemblies but the majority of them were to spirit the fans before a sports activitiy. Aside from the sports assemblies, there were a few educational as- semblies ranging from singer Chuck Bissett to practical techniques of karate. A major event for Luers is the Annual Christmas Drive. An assembly is held at the close of the drive and the money, food, and clothing were handed over to the Christmas bureau and Catholic Charities. A total of $2358 was collected by the student body. This project was headed by Fr. Vernon, Mr. Matthews, and Ms. Lombardo. The spirit of the assemblies will be remembered by each senior who, in the course of four years, have participated in a host of them. Until next year, . . Frosh and Sophomores remain seated. 26 Socializing
