Music Department Holds Successful Contests. The Music Department hosted two successful contests this year. The first was the annual NISBOVA contest on February 1. Over 2500 contestants from schools in northern Indiana competed for prizes, and many Luers students were among the winners. The Lancers took first in their division and went on to win first in state. A quartet of trumpeters from the band also received a first in addition to several others winning individual awards. Then on February 22, the Minstrels hosted the first annual Swing Choir Contest. Seven schools entered the contest and Marion High School won first place honors. Socializing 21
