These years have contributed to our growth as individuals in today's world. The Loughlin community has helped us to cope with others in times of stress and pleasure. We, the graduating class of 1976, have had our fair share of many obstacles in our lives, yet we have always managed to accept life as it is and kept our heads held high. And so, it has beentproven to us that Loughlin is not only a building but a part of livingfwhich will bein our hearts for the rest of our lives. . ' So now as the introduction to our book of life has been completed, we will begin to mold our lives, as adults faced with the burdens of the world. When these burdens suddenly become too heavy, we can reflect on the days spent at Loughlin and find that each of these burdens can be resolved or accepted, and once again we will walk with our heads high. There is no man more deserving of this title than Mr. Robert Muccigrosso. His understanding nature and genuine sense of concern have helped Loughlin over- come many difficulties which to any other person might have seemed unconquerable. Mr. Muccigrosso has proven that a Principal does not have to remain aloof in order to be respected for his authority. His active involvement with all the members of the Loughlin Community and true appreciation of all their endeavors are what help make Loughlin the great place it is. ,gif i 8, , ff , .nh-xx Ex- , Under the guidance of Mr. Muccigrosso there is Loughlin's Administrative Team con- sisting of Dr. Reinhard Griesmer, Mr. Peter Leibman and Brother Louis Jaegar. In his first term as Assistant Principal is Dr. Reinhard Griesmer. His experience and ability to cope with the student's problems have es- tablished Dr. Griesmer's good relationship with all ofthe Loughlin Community. In the brand new position as Assistant Prin- cipal to the Seniors and Juniors is Mr. Peter Leibman. His friendly manner and optimistic viewpoint make him someone that the older students of Loughlin can rely on for assist- ance. Attending to the needs of the Sophomores and Freshmen is Brother Louis Jaegar. His experience in the position of Assistant Princi- pal is what enables him to handle the problems ofthe younger members of Loughlin. Br Louis Jaegar, F S C Mr. Peter Leibman At a time when confusion and indecision about the future occupy our minds, itls comforting to know we have a man like Brother Raphael Cecchini behind us. Brother Raphael, Loughlinls Hrst guidance counselor, has been helping Seniors for over twenty years. After receiving his M.S. CCum Laudej in counseling at Fordham University, Br. Ra- phael went on to acquire a Ph.D. in Educa- tional Psychology. He was made Chairman of the Guidance Department in 1956 and held the position until 1973. He has also been Treasurer of the National Catholic Guidance Conference for many years and Moderator of the National Honor Society. Due to a serious illness, we were deprived of Br. Raphael,s valuable assistance for a few months. Fortunately, Br. Raphael re- turned in time to make our Senior Year complete. But his absence made all of us realize just how important it is to have a Guidance Counselor and friend like Br. Ra- phael, and for this reason we dedicate this year's book to him. Although Luis is worthy of all this fame, we feel Loughlin's pride in its All-American track star goes beyond his athletic feats. In addition to his fine athletic qualities, his intelligence, dedi- cation, and character have made him the person he is. They find themselves relating to the outside world while they're still at home in Loughlin. The volunteers work towards a union between their fantasies and real- ity. They do this by performing many publicized and also unnoticed deeds. There is the frustration and the endless trial of tutoring young children and the joy of seeing that child learng there is the attachment they feel for the old and sickg most of all, there is a sense of personal pride and of accomplishment. There is something very special and unique branded into each of the program's par- ticipants and they will carry it for many years after graduation. 121 YEI Joan comments to Aurora about Liz sticking her nose in the yearbook again. .4 :e,, ,Q-., in N Fred blows in Barbara's ear and Barbara loves it. Eagerly awaited for months and months, the subject of great excited attention for a matter of days and weeks upon their initial appearance, they are most often just as quickly forgotten and stored away in the attics of our memories, to be remembered only when happened upon accidentally. In 1976, as I write this, I wish you the happiness you have earned in your four years at Bishop Louglin and the achievements that should be yours by virtue of what you have learned here. For the longer, less excited, perhaps more meaningful glances at this yearbook in 1986 and 1996 and 2006, my wish for you is that your life has been blessed with love and with understanding and that you are able to see the connection between these aspects of your life and your years at Bishop Loughlin.
