Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph V. S. McClancy P.A., LL.D., Ph.D. Lair' Slll7C'7'ilZff'llt1l'71f of Catholic Schools A somber note was injected into the ac- tivities at Loughlin during the past year. It was the untimely death of our beloved Superintendent of Schools, Monsignor Joseph V. S. McClancy. His passing was felt deeply at Loughlin for it was under his guidance and through his foresight that our school was established. For this outstanding man of God, Loughlin held special interest. Since its institution, Monsignor McClancy has been very close to Loughlin and to its students and activities. Ours, his favorite school, has been successful because of his keen interest and enthusiasm for all its ac- tivities. In addition to our school, Monsignor McClancy has been instrumental in setting Msgr. McClancy at the recent graduation exercises. up five other Catholic Diocesan High Schools. His devotion, his zeal and his initi- ative are exemplified throughout the Whole diocese in every school. The bestowal of the Papal Blessings, as well as secular awards, gives added testimony to the zeal of this magnificent Father of Education in the diocese. The Christian Brothers, deep appreciation for his years of service both to their Order and to Loughlin was shown last year by their making him an Affiliated Member of the Order. In the death of Monsignor Mc- Clancy, we have lost not only a champion of Education, but also a true friend of Loughlin. Msgr. NlCCl.ll1Cf' speaks .it blessing of Iflig in XY'orld War II. Service
