On February 24th, 1987 the 5th Annual Knight of the Gael was held at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. The event was held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. George Gerringer. They were chosen as honorees because of their generous contributions to Bishop Gorman High School. Through the years George and Kim have gone out of their way to help in various ways. From heading the Booster Club to decorating the Gym for Home- comin . Kim and Geor e are always there to lens a helping ham? Congressman james Bilbray declared an Act of Congress in Washington D.C. also February 24th, 1987 was declared George and Kim Gerringer Day in the State of Nevada, City of Las Vegas and County of Clark. This years dinnerfdance raised over S30,000.000. These monies will be used for construction of the new building which will begin in the summer. ...ff Paul Dawkins Drug Seminar Channel eight sponsored an anti- drug campaign held in the Bishop Gorman Gym. Paul Dawkins along with a panel of drug experts talked about the evils many illegal sub- stances cause in ones everyday life. A 45 minute crack presentation, a CBS News docudrama, was shown to the 200 students invited to join the pre- sentation. After the docudrama, stu- dents were invited to ask the panel questions and offer their opinions on the subject matter. The campaign was held to try to curb the drug re- lated problems high school students often incur. 'IJ Archie Perry addresses the panel with a question about drugs. 25 Paul Dawkins heads towards another student who has a question for the panel. 31 The Panel explains the dangers of drugs.
