ational Merit Semi Finalists This fall five Seniors were nomin- ated as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. They are: Stephanie Tayengco, lohn Ameriks, Liza Yballe, Anastasia Warpinski, and joel Gonza- lez. They are competing for some 6,000 Merit Scholarships to be awarded in the Spring. The Gorman stu- dents produce several valedictorians and always fill the Honor Roll lists. The students also exceed in a variety of tests scores such as PSAT, SAT and other achievement tests. Sun Youth Forum Members ,.,....,- H kSun Youth Forum Members: Top Row CL to Rl Kevin Mahan, Matt Foley, Eva Liang, Rowl: Mitch Burns, Shannon Sarver, Kristin Slaveck, Laura Gerber, Kyla Duckworth Bilbray, Susan Squire, Sandy Allred, Chris Serbick, Micheal Vermy. l The Sun Youth Forum, which was sponsored by the Las Vegas Sun, in- vited members from each local high school to participate in a frank and lopen discussion about current events and problems that face to- day's teenager. Eight different topics tsuch as Law and Crime, problems in the Government and State affairs were discussed by the students as- isigned to that section. The members ,were treated to a gourmet lunch by ithe Sun. The event was held in the different meeting rooms of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
