nn mx .. ... A , .. .. fry, ggi'-0 J K gs? W., lr' There have been times when I look in the mirror All these lies and my face getting clearer The past is gone. When I was young it seemed that life was so wonderful, a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, oh responsible, practicle I never wondered. I didn 't like school and I know I 'm nobody's fool I had a dream but, they told me what to dream They made me trade my heros for ghosts Half my life was books written pages Living life with some fools and some sages And I thought I could tell heaven from hell Teachers leave us kids alone I wouldn 't wonder Money it's the hit Don 't give me that be a goody good bull Now. I 'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set I think I'Il by me a learjet My Ferrari does 185 I lost my liecence now I don 't drive I go to parties sometimes til four It's hard to leave when you can't find the door How I 'm not trying to cause a big sensation I 'm just talking about my generation Oh, and it makes me wonder. Knights in white satin, never reaching the end Letters are written never meaning to send Beauty I 'd always missed with these eyes before Just what the truth is I can 't say anymore All the lonely people where do they all come from All the lonely poeple where do they all belong There are times when all the worlds asleep The questions run so deep for such a simple man They all had something to tell me but I wouldn 't listen It's all past us, It was in the plan, please now listen I wonder of those I knew. My sister was a tailor she sewed my new blue jeans My father was a gambling man down in New Orleans Her mind is tiffany twisted, she got a Mercedes Benz She got a lot of pretty pretty boys she calls friends He says what counts after all the votes have been taken And he'II talk from yesterday to forever and not admit he's mistaken Of the friends I had some I didn 't know and some made me blue But I try not to think of them but my friends that were true Oh I get by with a Iittel help from my friends Sprinter, the foolish one, who always lent a 'The Kid' makes up his mind but only takes his stand Oh you innocent mole don 't stay to long in your hole The commando is right outside, but what does he have heart or soul Man 'the hand' you don 't have to fight inside, come out and play And now the Strobe is no longer on, let's see how long that will stay Oh I 'm gonna try with a little help from my friends I 've paid my dues time after time I 've done my sentence but commited no crime And bad mistakes I 've made a few I've had my shells and kicked in my face But I've come thru I've taken my bows my cut and calls You've brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it I thank you all But its been no bed of roses no pleasure cruise I consider it a challenge before the whole human race That I never lose Cause we conquered the world and more, heaven 's door I wonder what to say. Hey Jude, don 't make it bad take a sad song and make it better? Mothers tell your children not to do what I have done To spend your life in sinsere misery in the house of the rising sun? There are two paths you can go by but in the long run There is still time to change the road your on? Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play Plow it looks as though its gone away Oh I believe in Yesterday In the streets the children screamed The lovers cried and the poets dreamed But not a word was spoken the church bells all were broken And the three men I 'd admired most the father, the son, and the holy ghost They caught the last train for the coast The day the music died. Buddy your a young man, hard man Shouting in the streets, going to take on the world some day You got mud on your face your a big disgrace Waving your banners all over the place Singing we will, we will, rock you How sing with me, sing for the year Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear W Sing with me if it's just for today Cause maybe tomorrow the good lord will take you away And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll And only if you try, You can reach That stairway Vfw 1 hand tothesky E-mcz I W i 1 1 w w l 1
