SADD S.A.D.D.- Students Against Drunk Driving was formed last year as an at- tempt to curb drunk driving deaths among students. The students hold school parties promoting sobriety and have assemblies to help students learn about the danger of drinking and driv- ing. The student interest in S.A.D.D. has grown and hopefully student drunk driving deaths will shrink as a result of it. Q f iff 3A The Lance newspaper is an im- portant tradition that has been maintained through the years at Bishop Gorman High School. Un- der the instruction of moderator joanne Padderud the Lance staff exhibits excellent journalistic writing and varied layouts. One of the highlights for the Lance this year was attending Press Day at U.N.L.V., where Lance reporters learned many different asspects of the journalism field. Student Life 175

7 1.4 x International Club The International Club consists of Gor- man students interseted in learning more about foreign cultures. The group is mo- derated by French teacher Ms. Martiny. Each student becomes involved in differ- ent cultures and learns about how life is lived in comparsion to the American Way.
