HOMECOMI Go get'em, Gaels is the battle cry which best describes the spirit of Homecoming 1963. Under the cry the gym shook with the cheers of an optimistic student body, a reminiscing alumni, and the determined Gorman gridiron crew. The enthusiasm was equalled only by that shown at the game when the Gaels crushed the Miners 39-6. Gorman's Gaels going with junior varsity players along with the varsity squad were sparked by Mike Lewis, Bob Fowler and Harold Morse. Lewis ran for two touchdowns . Morse passed for two more, one of them good for 67 yards to Fowler who scored one more touchdown on a 45 yard gallop. Gorman had two more touchdowns called back on penalties. The Gaels amassed 455 yards total offense 305 yards on the ground, to a total of 186 Richard Costello rips through the shield and the game begins. yards for Manogue. Both Lewis' touchdowns were scored in spectacular plays. Lewis took a Manogue punt early in the opening period and raced 95 yards for a Gorman score. Later in the fourth quarter, Lewis intercepted a pass and ripped off 72 yards for another touch- down. The Gaels topped off the game with a final touchdown with seven seconds remaining in the game. Mike Stafford and Steve Ashcraft scored the other Gorman touchdowns. Hey fellows, can I play too? Homecoming queen :md attendants are seen with team captains Richard Costello and Frank Knot.
