Environment plays role for students The whole idea of school is to prepare for the future. English teacher Bill Sullivan feels, lt's not only the books and papers that make the school but the all around activities of the environment as well. He stated, You spend your entire life dealing with people and if you can learn to work with others in a classroom atmosphere, in sports, in a production, or more or less just learning to get along with and enjoy other people life becomes worth living. Mr. Sullivan casts his look of perturbation on senior Charle McGinnis. If Mr. Scudder explains the English language to his freshman class. actice writing skills. Literature is stressed by Mr. Bishop h to dictate future We can use our past experiences to make changes for the future, explained Mr. Mueller. In teaching English many teachers constantly found themselves referring back to their past jobs or experiences in order to relate an aspect of English to their students. It really helps to use examples from the past in teaching. I often did this! commented Spanish teacher Miss Bidot. The English teachers also believed in trying new ideas. New and different ideas must be tried in order for the year to be successful! I feel this year wasn't very successful because I wasn't allowed to try as many new things as I did last year! commented librarian Miss Chavez. Mr. Scudder felt, Many students didn't learn from their past mistakes yet many do. And those are the ones that made my year successful. Faculty 9I

Preparation starts IIOW The building of a strong body and a sound mind forms the base from which our life develops. Constructing this foundation is a job of great importance to the faculty members involved in the P.E. and Safety Ed. departments at BHS. Teacher Walt Edge stated, ln Safety Education we attemt to prepare students to be a part of the large motoring public, which they will be dealing with for the rest of their lives. This idea of preparing students to deal with a public from now on is what makes the skills learned in these classes major factors in the outcome of one's future. Training a mind to think defensively and strengthening a body to uphold conditions play an important part in helping one become a contributing body in society.
