Trade school would boost interest here Vocational and Industrial programs play an important part in students' futures no matter what profession they pick. In recent years the lack of interest has been hurting the students and programs. Mr. Russell, who has had a total of 3I years of teaching, 26 of them here in BHS as a woodshop teacher, stressed that the lack of interest is due to the lack of building here in Bisbee. He said, I would like to see a trade school go up in Bisbee in order to boost the interest of students in shops. The trade school, which once was an idea of Mr. Russell and a friend of his, would have been built in the old Culiver car lot. lt would have given additional aid to those who were interested in vocational and industrial professions. Even though the programs and curriculum have grown some shops may soon disappear form the high schools because of lack of interest and these programs are becoming more college oriented. Mr. Russell, along with the other shop teachers, would like to see more students involved in vocational and industrial programs to aid students in their futures.
